The very first soap we ever made is still going strong and is an evergreen favourite.
The interest in soap-making began many years ago with a bar of Nablusi soap from Palestine, a souvenir brought back by a globe-trotting friend. The fact that soap has been made the same way in Nablus was very intriguing. The organic, earthy feel and aroma of the soap were also appealing. Basic soap-making is easy to learn. Travels around the world, particularly to Marseilles widened our horizons and eventually, Old Sage was born. We used the same hot process technique still in use in Nablus to make the first batch of soap. Over the years, this too has evolved but it retains some similarity to Nablusi soap.
